BLS Initial Course

The American Heart Association's Basic Life Support (BLS) Initial course is designed for healthcare providers and other clinical personnel who are required to complete or want to become BLS certified.  This course is for first-time learners or learners that have let their certification lapse.

 Course Content:

    • High-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants
    • The AHA Chain of Survival, specifically the BLS components
    • Important early use of an AED
    • Effective ventilations using a barrier device
    • Importance of teams in multi rescuer resuscitation and performance as an effective team member during multi rescuer CPR
    • Relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) for adults and infants
  • Students will participate in practice while watching segments, complete BLS skills practice, testing and complete a written exam.

The American Heart Association requires students to have the textbook for this course which is included with your paid registration.

All AHA classes are held in our Training Center which is located at 850 Energy Drive, Education Door (Entrance is at the back of building).  

 ACLS and PALS classes will always show full because you have to reach out to Education (education@mvhospital.net or 208-542-7311) to register

BLS classes can be registered directly on this site.

MVH or IFCH employees are encouraged to use their AHA account login email.
